Cream Cheese

Paula Deen and I have a lot in common. We both LOVE cream cheese. And, butter, mayonnaise, sour cream, cheese, sugar . . . all that fattening stuff.

I was making a cheesecake this morning for a party I am going to tonight, and I realized that I have bought a bunch of cream cheese this week. I don't cook much these days and I don't go to the store much, but I realized I have bought 4 pounds of cream cheese in the last week. I haven't eaten all of that, but I have had way too much. Yikes!

I made a strawberry pineapple Jello salad last week, with a cream cheese topping (package #1). It was so good that when it was gone, I made another batch (package #2). My friend Jodi had a birthday and called me for the number of one of our favorite cake places. She wanted to order a cake for her family celebration. I told her I would make her some strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing (package #3 & #4).

By that time, Jello #2 was gone so I decided to make another one of my favorite Jello salads. It is called Cherry Coke Salad and guess what it has in it. 8 ozs. of cream cheese (package #5). As I was making my cheesecake this morning, I opened up package #6, #7 & #8. Eight 8 ounce packages of cream cheese equals 4 pounds.

I'm sure I have gained 4 pounds just by licking the bowl.

That's a lot of cream cheese.

We do a lime cream cheese coke thing, I wonder if it's like your cherry one?

Kelli, that sounds good. Mine is cherry jello, cream cheese, coke, juice from fruit, dark sweet bing cherries, pineapple and nuts.

Lolly-

Now I know where I get my love of cream cheese and sweets from! :) There's nothing better than those Cream-Cheese brownies we used to get at Just Set the Table. I was craving those the other day, but clearly couldn't have them.

LOVE YOU!

I think I gained 2 pounds just reading this post! I too LOVE cream cheese - and not just in sweets...one of my favorite casseroles growing up had hamburger, noodles, corn, cream cheese, and cream of mushroom soup...along with some basic seasonings. May sound strange but it is yummy and even passes the kid test since my 4 year old LOVES it too!!
