We had a hard time deciding where to go last night for dinner. I want to go somewhere that the food is good, but I get tired of going to the same places over and over again. We have been to Reposado's twice in the last 5 days and after Justin suggested it again, I said it was a big NO. I tend to get burnt out on places, and once I do, I have to drop it out of the rotation for at least 6 months.
We were first headed to Jason's and then switched to On the Border (mediocre), when we saw the Gainer's at the intersection and found out they were going to Posado's. I had not been there in almost a year and we decided to go for the company.
Once the hot sauce was doctored with a little sugar, it was great. They have some of the best flour tortillas. I had the Puffy Taco Salad with honey mustard dressing. It was very good. It is a salad topped with two puffy beef or chicken tacos and then a puffy shell with queso on top. Not near as healthy as a salad sounds, but it was really good.
For dessert, the have complimentary soft serve and awesome sopapillas. The sopapillas are dusted in cinnamon sugar and served hot with butter and honey. Yum!

Ferrari's Italian - Mixed Review
Yesterday was my good friend Jodi's birthday. I'm not sure what number, but I know it is a few years less than me. She has had a few exhausting weeks, so she wanted me to choose. We decided to try a new restaurant in Grapevine, Ferrari's.
I had mixed feelings about it, but with a little fixing, it would be good. First of all, the inside was decorated very nice. When we sat down, we were brought their signature flat bread. It would have been good if it was crispier and had some salt added to it. I think they forgot the salt in the recipe for the dough. It was topped with cheese and Italian seasoning, but that did not overcome the bland crust. With a little tweaking, it could be good.
I ordered Caesar salad and was told they were out. The reasons was they didn't have any lettuce because the trucks were delayed due to the rain. I know it doesn't rain around here very often but I didn't think a little shower would shut down the salad menu. But. . . after questioning, we found out that they had lettuce, just not romaine. Since I was after the dressing, croutons and cheese, I asked if he could make it with one of the lettuces that they had. Novel idea and it worked. Unfortunately the results were not that great. The dressing was not very good.
I ordered the Chicken Valdostona. It was a chicken breast with ham, cheese and a creamy mushroom sauce. It was good, but to my dismay, it was served with broccoli and fried potatoes. Remember, this is an Italian restaurant. Fried potatoes?????? Where is the pasta? I needed some pasta to soak up the extra sauce.
After a few bites, I ordered a side of pasta and that made it much better. I will probably give it another try, but I'm not going to be rushing over there this weekend.

Oprah's Favorite Hamburger
According to my trusted sources, one of Oprah's favorite hamburgers come from a place called, The Counter in Santa Monica. They have just opened up one on 5700 Legacy Drive in Dallas, just off the Tollway. Businesses that are endorsed by Oprah seem to do well. Remember when Sprinkles, her favorite cupcake store, came to town?
I have not been to The Counter yet, but it is supposed to feature baseball-size patties. I must say that is a little turn off for me because I am not really into thick patties, but I will give it a try since Oprah says it's good.
One thing that really sounds good is that there are 27 different toppings and you can get either fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries or a combo. Sounds pretty good to me.
